Josh is still cancer free!!!

So Josh had another PT Scan on the 3rd of March and then we met with his Dr on Monday the 8th. Everything looks great. We get to go 9 months until the next one. So I would imagine that is a good sign!

So what we have been up to lately......
Jaycee is still in gymnastics. She was able to move up a class and is doing really well. We want to get her into a tumbling class as well as the developmental class she is in all ready. She has been practicing her cart wheels and one handed cart wheels. She is getting really good. She is improving everyday with her reading but is starting to not like homework. All her homework is, is writing a few sentences and writing to 100. She likes her reading homework at least. If only she knew what homework is going to be in jr high and high school, she would love what she has now.

Jordyn is still a little stinker! She is still not going potty in the big potty. So I told her when she turns 4 I will still buy her diapers but she will have to change them herself. She turns 4 on May 7th. So now she doesn't want to turn 4. If you ask her what she wants for her birthday she gets really mad and says she doesn't want a birthday! Hopefully I didn't ruin her by saying that! But she did tell me the other night that when she is 5 she will wear big girl panties. I told her I sure hope she does it before then!

I forgot to mention the last post that both of the girls chopped their hair. Jaycee's was down to about her bum and Jordyn was in the middle of her back. Jaycee decided she wanted her hair cut to her shoulders. After hers was done Jordyn decided she liked it and wanted hers done too. So I reluctantly let them both do it. I was worried they would hate it later. But still so far they both love it. They had it cut 2 months ago. So I guess it was okay that I let them do it. Jaycee wants to keep hers short but Jordyn wants to grow hers out.
That about sums things up for now.

Christmas and Temple Square

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Although it was really hard for me to get the girls to write to Santa to tell him what they wanted. Jaycee got the Ariel doll for the bath and a princess DS game she wanted and Jordyn got a DS and a Dora game. They both received a ton of presents from all the grandparents and love everything they got. They are so spoiled!! We also took them to see temple square with my brother and his cute family and Heidi's sister and husband. It was really cold but a lot of fun. Next year I think we need to do it earlier in the month so it isn't as cold. The girls are still as funny as can be. Jaycee is getting really good at reading and writing. She is starting to write sentences. She told us last night about the sentences she wrote yesterday. She wrote I like mom. I like dad. I love mom. I love dad. Then Jordyn asked "what about me"? Jaycee's reply was "we had to use the words on the wall". Sorry Jordyn you know that Jaycee loves you too!! (most of the time anyway) My sister and her family like to say what things they did good and bad that day. Well my girls decided that they wanted to do that too. So we all know that Jordyn still won't go potty in the potty. So her good thing for Sunday was she didn't poop in primary and her bad thing was that she peed in primary!!! I love her, even though she is a little stinker most of the time. She says things like that to make sure I don't give her away. I did find someone who actually said yes when I asked if they wanted her. But I think after a few hours she would be returned!! Thanks Tonya for the offer though!! I was somewhat forced to take vacation the last week of the year so I decided to take the girls to see The Princess and the Frog. It was really cute and Jordyn did really well. There was one scary part in it and when it was over she looked at me and said "that was scary". Then on New Years day all 4 of us went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks the squeakuel. The girls loved it and when we were leaving they asked if we could could buy it. Well that pretty much sums it up. Now back to the same old routine.

December All Ready??

Well we will start with Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving with my family this year. I think this was the smallest gathering with my family ever. We went to Aunt Pam's and Uncle Phils. We had a good time playing games and eating some really good food. After we were all pooped out with games we went to my parents house to watch the movie Four Christmas's. After that was over we headed home since I needed to work early in the morning on Black Friday. Josh and the girls were great. They got out all the Christmas decorations and decorated the house and the tree in the living room. It was so nice to come home and have everything done for me!! We are able to have all three of our trees up this year. We are all excited about that. The girls get to have one in the play room that is a fun color fiber optic tree. We were able to go and get some decorations for the tree in the living room. So that one is mommy's pretty tree. And the real tree downstairs is the kids tree with the fun un matching ornaments on it. I thought with Sparkles having the real tree downstairs where she refuses to go would be best for her and the tree. On Sunday we went with Josh's family to pick out our real tree. This is a fun tradition that started a few years ago. We go and pick out the tree then go home and decorate it while listening to Christmas music! We had a blast and our house smell great!

Wow how time flies!!

I didn't realize it had been this long since I have updated. So here is what has been going on.
Jaycee finished soccer not wanting to play anymore. So we put her in gymnastics and she absolutely loves it. She is all ready really good. On her first day her coach was really impressed with her and said that she won't be in the first level for very long! I love going to watch her and am so amazed and proud of her. She does really well on the balance beam. They do bunny hops on them. They have foam blocks that they jump over. Well the coach has Jaycee jumping over 2 instead of 1 like everyone else. She did really well this Saturday, she did 4 in a row before falling off. She is really loving school and is learning how to read. She is doing really well with that. I am very proud of her. She is going through a rough stage right now though. She is arguing everything! I sure hope she gets through this very soon because I would really love to have a 7 year old!
Jordyn is still Jordyn. The Diaper Fairy came to our house on November 1st as promised. Yeah that didn't go over very well. That morning it took us until about 10 am to get the diaper off of her from the night before. Josh had to pin her down to get it off. She still doesn't want anything to do with going potty in the big potty. I took her to the store to pick out whatever toy she wanted and that would be her potty toy that she could only play with on the potty. She was excited about that at the store. Then when we came home she wanted to play with it so I told her we needed to go sit on the potty. Well that turned in to her usual kick and scream at the top of her lungs while sitting on the potty. She ususally would pee her pants right before she had to sit down. So by Wednesday afternoon I had to ask the Diaper Fairy to bring us back the diapers because Jordyn wasn't really ready. So hopefully soon she will be ready. I really don't want a child going to primary in a diaper!! And I definately don't want a 4 year old in diapers!!
Halloween was fun as usual. Jaycee was Cinderella and Jordyn was an Ice Princess. She sure did fit that part! I decided it was because she knew the Diaper Fairy was coming. We did things a little differently this year because Halloween was on Saturday. Friday the 30th we went to my mom's work to trick or treat like we do every year. But this year we had David, Nora, Cecily and Brayden. So that was fun trying to keep up with that many kids and keep them all happy! We didn't go to my parents house after this year since it was a day early. Josh and I went on a much needed date. We haven't been very good at being able to do that lately. So then on Halloween we had Jaycee's 6th birthday party in the afternoon. That was really fun. She had about 9 friends come. We played pin the crown on the princess and we made our very own crowns and wands. After that we got the kids ready to go trick or treating at my parents house. There was a home game for Utah so Josh wasn't there with us for the first time. I gave my tickets to Gene and Christy since I couldn't leave the kids on Halloween.
I don't remember if I posted that Josh and I were doing the P90X workout. We are almost finished with it. We only have 2 weeks left. We haven't had the results that we had hoped for. But we didn't really change our eating habits that much. I think if we would have followed the nutrition guide that comes with it we would have had amazing results. But we are happy with where we are so far. We still have lost weight and a lot of inches. The inches is what we care about the most. All of our pants are loose on us and that makes us happy. Maybe when we are done we will post a pic of us. (maybe) I went on a business trip to Redondo Beach CA for 8 days. It was so nice. I worked about 10-12 hour days but because I didn't have kids to take care of when I was finished with work it really didn't seem like I was working that long. I was in bed by 8 every night. That was awesome!! I am so greatful for Josh supporting me to do that. I know it was really hard on him. He had to get up early and get the kids ready and Jaycee to school. I am very proud of him for doing the girls hair everyday!! When I got home their hair looked pretty good for a daddy job!! I am sure that Josh was very happy for me to come home!!
Well I think that is about it for now.

Josh!

So I forgot to post last week that Josh had another scan and we met with his Dr. on Thursday and he is still cancer free!! So we can rest easy for another 6 months until we do it all over again. Hopefully we will continue to have the same results.

Also Josh and I started the P90X workout. We will see what happens with that. Maybe at the end we will post some pics of the results! Wish us luck, it is kicking our butts!!

Jaycee's first day of school

I can't believe that Jaycee started school today. I can't believe how fast time flew. I swear I just had her!! I am very proud of myself. I made it through with out crying. I almost did when we left the house to head up to the school but I didn't. I am so proud of her. She is such a smart girl. She was so excited to start, she was counting down the days and it is finally here. I contemplated posting something she said the other day and I finally decided that I would. I think it is hilarious but some might not. So Jaycee has only ever sworn 1 time and it was the "D" word. Nothing too terrible. Then we were leaving a restaurant the other night and Jaycee was playing her favorite rhyming game. I always warn her that she needs to be careful when she does this because she is going to say a naughty word. Well she finally did it. She was rhyming and out came the "F" bomb! I thought if I just ignored it she wouldn't say it again. Well a minute later she said it again and then again and yet again. Finally Josh told her to stop saying that word because it was a naughty word. Jaycee then said "I didn't say the potty word, Jordyn is the one that said "butt" I just said "F". I lost it at that point laughing because she was so serious about her not saying the bad word!!! I love her!! She now knows that the word she said is a naughty word. Jaycee also started playing soccer. She had her first game on Sat. that I unfortunately missed, but Josh recorded it for me. She is a little afraid of the ball and getting in the middle of the pack that are trying to kick it. But she says that soccer is sooo much fun. So hopefully Josh can work with her a little so she will at least not be afraid of the ball.

Our life as we know it!

So we are pretty boring lately but what has been happening in the life of the Phifers'. Well Jaycee got a new bedroom set. She has the one that Josh and I used when we were first married. She calls it her Queen room because she has a queen size bed. Last night when I got home from being out with my friends I went into Jaycee's room to give her a kiss goodnight and she was laying on the floor with her pillow. So I asked her why she was sleeping on the floor and she told me it was because her bed was too soft. She liked her other one better because it was harder. She is so funny. She doesn't like change very well. After we moved into the house she told me she liked our condo better because her room was painted and this one isn't. I am going to have fun with her!! She still says some of the funniest things. We went to Kohls the other night and Jordyn asked what we were going to do at the store and Jaycee replied "uh shop"! I was so glad that she knew what we were going to do there!

Jordyn is still Jordyn. I haven't found anyone that will take her until she grows out of this stage she is in!! Her bedroom door doesn't close anymore because she has slammed it too many times. I am so looking forward to her teenage years. She is still covered in scratches from Sparkles, but don't feel bad for her. She tries to put Sparkles in her doll's stroller, she picks her up by her neck, she carries her all over the house, she makes her sit on the couch and if she jumps off she will put her right back and she uses her for a pillow. I don't blame Sparkles one bit for scratching and biting Jordyn. I am trying to work on getting Jordyn to leave her alone. The other day I told Jordyn to put Sparkles down and she said "but mommy she is so cute and I love her". How can I argue with that? She also still wants nothing to do with the potty so I have told her that the Diaper Fairy is going to come on Nov. 1st to take all of her diapers and give them to the babies that really need them. And in place of the diapers she will leave her some big girl panties. So we will see how that goes. I am going to take the week off of work. I just hope my carpet and furniture will survive.

Sparkles is just like Jordyn. I am really glad that we can't have any more kids for a while. I don't think Sparkles or myself would survive it. She has eaten all the corners of my baseboards. She likes to eat and spread all the moss out of the fake tree we have in our living room. We have to keep the shoe basket and all of the garbage cans in the bathrooms up on something so she can't get into them and pull everything out and eat it. She will only eat soft foods. And the big topper for me is when she ripped my patriarcle blessing to shreds!!! She was put in time out for that one so that I could calm down and gather the hundreds of pieces of paper that were all over the living room. She still doesn't sleep in very late. She is up for the day by 6am. But she sure is cute.

Josh had been working really hard lately. I am very proud of him. He has been playing softball this year and really enjoying it. He wasn't able to play at all last year because of Chemo. So it has been really good for him. He is finally able to do all of his honey do's that would have been nice to have done when we first moved in. The house is still a work in progress but I am happy that it is in progress now.

I have been really busy lately with work and I also started taking a zumba class and actually using the eliptical machine that we bought over a year ago. My goal is to lose all the weight I gained through out Josh's chemo treatments. I am off to a good start. I have all ready lost 5lbs. My goal is to try to lose it by my birthday. I know that is a pretty heafty goal but I will try. I still don't have a home for work yet but hopefully I will have one soon.

That's about it with us for now.
